Private Blood Testing
As part of your pregnancy journey, you may need or choose to have different blood tests. I offer private blood testing in the comfort of your own home, with results sent directly to you and explained clearly so you always feel informed and supported.
Moon & Meadow Midwifery
Our Blood Testing Process
It’s important to know that you are entitled to routine blood testing free of charge through the NHS. Some hospitals may not accept private blood results, so it’s always best to check with your booked hospital before deciding on private testing.
1
Home Visit Blood Testing

Comfortable and Discreet Experience
This approach helps ensure the experience is calm, discreet, and as stress free as possible, without the need to travel or wait in a clinical setting.
3

Group B Streptococcus (GBS) is a common bacteria that many people carry without symptoms.
-
However, in a small number of cases it can cause serious infection in newborn babies during labour and birth.
-
Testing for GBS late in pregnancy gives you important information so you can make decisions about your birth plan and care.
-
The test is a simple, painless swab taken from the vagina and rectum, usually between 35–37 weeks of pregnancy. The swab is then sent to the laboratory, and results are usually available within a few days.
-
This test is optional, but many families choose it for reassurance and peace of mind in the final weeks of pregnancy.
